WASHINGTON, FEBRUARY 8- Last night, President Biden delivered the second State of the Union address of his presidency. He reaffirmed commitment and increased investment in infrastructure and clean mobility, which are crucial to achieving a clean energy future and creating opportunities in communities too often left behind. EVHybridNoire applauds the Biden Administration’s dedication to creating a safer and more equitable world.

The State of the Union address emphasized the benefits of transportation electrification, including reduced dependence on foreign oil, cleaner air, and the creation of good jobs in the manufacturing and technology sectors. The investment mentioned in Biden’s speech will support research and development, infrastructure, and incentives to encourage the adoption of electric transportation, demonstrating a commitment to fighting climate change and transitioning to a greener economy.

As the 118th Congress is working to tackle America’s foremost challenges, EVHybridNoire is encouraged by the continued implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that will advance equitable mobility options and address infrastructure needs around the country for frontline, urban, suburban, rural, and tribal communities.

As the world’s largest network of diverse Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers and enthusiasts, EVHybridNoire works to advance multimodal clean transportation solutions across the U.S. and ensure those solutions are inclusive and equitable. We do so by advocating for policies that center equity, including those outlined in our Public Policy Toolkit.

This administration is making robust investments in charging infrastructure and policy: such as a commitment to building 500,000 charging stations across the country and providing rebates and incentives to lower the cost of purchasing new and used electric vehicles. As President Biden emphasized, “to maintain the strongest economy in the world, we also need the best infrastructure in the world.”

With the President focused on growing our economy, building modern and sustainable infrastructure, and delivering an equitable clean energy future, we remind the administration and Congress to work closely with communities themselves and with public and private entities like EVHybridNoire to accelerate a just transition to a cleaner, greener economy.
